This election commercial was aired on CJBK (1290 AM – London) and AM 980 (London) during the London West provincial by-election of 2013 to promote the election of Al Gretzky to be London West’s next MPP.
Transcript:
Narrator: “It seems like, everyday, Kathleen Wynne’s Liberals are apologizing for something they’ve done to you.”
Voice of Kathleen Wynne: “And I am very sorry. I’m very sorry. I’m very sorry for that. The people of Ontario need to hear that I’m sorry because I am. I am sorry.”

Freedom Party of Ontario leader Paul McKeever calls into the “London Today” program hosted by Andy Oudman weekday mornings on 1290 AM CJBK. The Ontario Liberal Party has nominated the just-retired Ontario Secondary School Teacher’s Federation head Ken Coran as its candidate for the coming London-West by-election. Coran and his union protested at the February 2013 Liberal leadership confence, at which Kathleen Wynne won the leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party. One week prior to his nomination, he endorsed or praised London West NDP candidate Peggy Sattler. The concern is that, if elected, Coran will be appointed Minister of Education.

Freedom Party of Ontario president Robert Metz calls into the “London Today” program hosted by Andy Oudman weekday mornings on 1290 AM CJBK. A by-election is soon to be called for five Ontario ridings, to replace 5 outgoing Liberal MPPs (some of whom have arguably retired due to involvement in a scandal in which the Liberal government spent hundreds of millions of dollars to move two gas plants in an effort to save 5 Liberal seats during the 2011 general election). The news has been leaked to Oudman’s show – by an upset London West Liberal – that the Kathleen Wynne Liberals are going to appoint Ken Coran – former head of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation who is retiring on June 30th, 2013 – even though he and his union led the anti-Liberal government protest held at the February 2013 Liberal leadership contest, and even though he – only a week or so earlier – had been endorsing the London West NDP candidate, Peggy Sattler. All three parties – the Liberals, NDP, and PCs – are promising to continue deficit spending until as late as 2017 or 2018. Robert Metz calls to let the public know that Al Gretzky (Wayne Gretzky’s uncle) will be Freedom Party’s candidate in London West, and that he’s the candidate to elect if people want to balance the budget in Ontario.

On May 15, 2013, “Philosophy in Action” podcast creator and host Dr. Diana Hsieh interviewed Freedom Party of Ontario leader Paul McKeever on the topic of “Winning Elections with the Freedom Party of Ontario”. Dr. Hsieh framed the show as follows: “Can a political party based on principles of individual rights win elections? Perhaps so – and Paul McKeever has a strategy for doing so with the Freedom Party of Ontario.Paul McKeever is the Leader of Freedom Party of Ontario. Paul joined Freedom Party in 1992. He first ran as a candidate for Freedom Party in Ontario’s 1999 election. He became a Freedom Party spokesperson that year, and the party leader in 2002.”

On May 1, 2013, Freedom Party of Ontario leader Paul McKeever appeared on David Menzies’ program “Menzoid Mornings” (Sun News Network, mornings 6 AM to 8 AM). The topic: a ten minute short historical “tutorial” about the “deal with the devil” made in 1993 by the office of Ontario’s then Attorney General – militant feminist Marion Boyd – and sex slaying manslaughter convict Karla Homolka.
The video was produced by McKeever to provide context for Freedom Party of Ontario’s 1994 Gordon Domm Dinner (Domm, a retired OPP officer, violated a court publication ban in the Homolka case by sharing US and British news stories with Canadians…the news reports suggested Homolka played an active part, and was an eager participant, in the sexual abuse and deaths of Kristen French, Leslie Mahaffy, and her own sister Tammy Lyn Homolka), in connection with Freedom Party of Ontario’s 2013 archival release of the video from that dinner (it appears in the Gordon Domm video, available at: https://freedomparty.on.ca/archive/1994/12/03/freedom-partys-gordon-domm-dinner-karla-homolka-and-marion-boyds-publication-ban/#more-2962).
