What a waste of $40 million this election is turning out to be. Voters are not only paying the cash but their sensibilities are being yanked back and forth by empty rhetoric from carnival- barker politicians. They worry little about contradicting themselves - screaming on the one hand that current spending is too high while hollering about spending cuts.
The right-wingers, at least are sticking to policy. Freedom candidate Barry Fitzgerald, a man of few words and fewer supporters, at least stuck to his guns. And while few people will agree with his policy, one made sense:
"You'll pay. How do you prefer? In the final analysis you're still going to pay."
