MEDIA RELEASE

Freedom Party Leader Paul McKeever
a candidate in London North Centre

May 9, 2018 - London, Ontario - The London-based Freedom Party of Ontario today announced that, in the 2018 provincial election, party leader Paul McKeever will run in the riding of London North Centre.

McKeever is campaigning chiefly on the issues set out in Freedom Party's 2018 election platform, which was released on February 13, 2018.  The platform offers voters a distinctly different plan for the future of Ontario: a balanced budget every year; an end to government-funding for political parties; an end to climate-fighting; no "price on carbon"; immediate cancellation of over-priced wind and solar green energy contracts; an end to the social engineering and identity politics of the Wynne era; provincially-supplied policing to maintain public order and defend free speech at public meetings on our university campuses; an end to kangaroo-court styled workplace investigations, and a requirement that formal, non-anonymous allegations be made to proper governmental authorities instead; cancellation of the Wynne-Ford-Horwath plan for a government monopoly on cannabis wholesale/retail; and more.

Paul McKeever, Leader - Freedom Party of Ontario

"The Liberal, NDP, and PC leaders all are essentially promising not to change what the government of Ontario is doing.  All of them are in favour of the government borrowing and running a deficit.  All of them are in favour of making the Ontario government the province's pot-dealer.  All of them are opposed to immediately scrapping the extortionate contracts that the Liberals set up for wind and solar power.  All of them - including Doug Ford - are in favour of continuing to fight climate change, at a cost of billions, though none of them has the slightest bit of evidence that humans have the technology to cool the climate.  All of them are in favour of continuing to teach school children radical "gender" theories (Ford merely wants to have it taught in later elementary grades).

"This election is not about getting people out of power, because they're already out of power: when the writ drops today, nobody remains an MPP.  Not even Kathleen Wynne (though she remains premier until the next one is sworn in).  This election is not about a change of personalities.  It's not about red versus blue versus orange.  It's not about whose face one is sick of seeing, or whose voice one is tired of hearing.  It's much more important than that.  This election is about putting an end to the government's destructive agenda of climate fighting; it's about ending the divisive agenda of identity politics; it's about ending the province's dangerously irresponsible deficit-addiction.

"There is only one party offering a better plan of action for Ontario's government; one party with a brighter and more prosperous vision for the province: Freedom Party.  And, as leader of the Freedom Party, I am proud to be offering my time and effort to represent Londoners in the riding of London North Centre."
