Whitby-Ajax provincial by-election
Freedom Party Leader
Launches Whitby-Ajax by-election Campaign
McKeever's Campaign Slogan:
Lower Taxes, A Better Life
March 1, 2006, Whitby-Ajax - Freedom Party of Ontario leader
Paul McKeever today launched his by-election campaign as the Freedom
Party candidate in the Ontario provincial riding of Whitby-Ajax. A by-election was today called for that riding to
fill the seat vacated by now federal conservative MP Jim Flaherty.
McKeever's campaign slogan is as bold as it is
frank: Lower Taxes, A Better Life.
McKeever
will be campaigning primarily on two of the key plank's in Freedom Party's
2007 Election Platform:
1. REPLACING PROPERTY TAXES
WITH A MUNICIPAL CONSUMPTION TAX:
"I will work to scrap
property taxes", says McKeever. "You should pay for what you use,
not pay to keep what you already own."
2. SCRAPPING THE PROVINCIAL
INCOME TAX & LEGALIZING FASTER, BETTER HEALTH
CARE.
"I will work to legalize faster, better health care by ending
Ontario's ban on private health insurance" says McKeever. "Nobody
should be forced to buy OHIP: the provincial income tax should be
scrapped. You should have a choice: buy public health insurance
(OHIP), buy private health insurance, or just pay as you
go."
