U.S.A. Asks Freedom Party: Canada Friend or Foe?
Fp Leader Paul McKeever defends Canada
on CBS/UPN Detroit Saturday

July 10, 2003 - PROGRAM NOTICE

Recent decisions by Ontario's courts concerning gay marriages and marijuana have angered many elements in the USA. The impact of those decisions on America are an extremely hot topic south of the border.

Freedom Party leader Paul McKeever will appear CBS/UPN Detroit's political talk show "Street Beat" on Saturday, July 12, 2003. The show airs at 11:30 AM on CBS Detroit, and at 8:00 AM on UPN Detroit.

CBS effectively put Paul McKeever to the task of defending equal treatment for gays & lesbians, and the current legal use of marijuana. "This was a relatively rare and sweet opportunity for me to defend a Canadian love for individual freedom and responsibility that, in some respects, supercedes that of the country most famed for it. The memorable and saddening irony is that many Americans are actually seeing Canada's de facto defence of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as anti-American."

NOTES: The Paul McKeever segment was taped on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Detroit's promenade by Cobo Hall, facing Casino Windsor. "Street Beat", produced by Caroline Lancaster, is hosted by Tara Wall. Aisha Gray (Telephone: 248-355-7090) is the Public Affairs Administrator for CBS/UPN Detroit.

Paul McKeever (who will be running in the riding of Oshawa, against Sid Ryan and Jerry Ouellette) is available to discuss this matter. You can contact him directly at ***-***-**** (cell).

Freedom Party is expected to run candidates in approximately half of Ontario's ridings in the coming election.
